Nili Lotan is an Israeli born and New York based fashion designer. After graduating from the prestigious Shenkar College of Engineering and Design in Tel Aviv, Nili moved to NYC in 1980 to pursue a career in apparel design, where she enjoyed a highly successful career leading design teams at top American fashion houses, including Ralph Lauren.
After following different visions of others for years, Nili launched her own eponymous label Nili Lotan in 2003 with a six-piece capsule: three trousers, two jackets and a skirt. The product range has expanded organically over the years. The first capsule was the core of the women's wardrobe – expanding into essential items such as jeans, belts, handbags and menswear, and limited-edition collaborations. When she designs, she wonders what her wardrobe needs and what her lifestyle demands. Her inspiration for her designs on a personal level comes from her childhood, the fashion of the seventies, the desert, the sea, her mother and father. In addition, art, architecture, and her life are the elements that influence and inform her designs, not the trends of the moment.
Nili's collections have been featured in top fashion and lifestyle publications including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and The Wall Street Journal. Her designs have been worn by celebrities such as Rihanna, Christy Turlington, Gigi Hadid, Jennifer Lawrence, Gwyneth Paltrow, Julianne Moore, Kaia Gerber, Jennifer Aniston, Cindy Crawford, and many others.
