Bontoni
The story behind the brand
With a limited number of pairs produced each year, Bontoni ensures that each creation retains its unique character, without compromise. Each shoe is a masterpiece that requires hundreds of precise hand stitches to achieve the perfect contour. The 'calzolaio' carries out over 300 intricate tasks, from stitching the leather to shaping and securing the upper to the last. After a minimum rest period of 25 days, the master begins hand-stitching the welt. The secret to the remarkable appearance and comfort of Bontoni shoes lies in the exclusive selection of leathers, which are carefully controlled. The finishing is an art in itself, with a spectrum of colours ranging from vibrant 'melanzana' to rich burgundy, with each pair coloured by hand. The sole receives an equal attention to craftsmanship and aesthetics, with naturally tanned leathers being carefully cut, coloured and waxed.
