It has been a while since we interviewed Caroline Belhumeur, creative director at Vince, about the full story of the Los Angeles-based brand. How is she doing now? Does she have any new routines during this challenging time? What does she enjoy wearing most and does she have any style advice for living and working (mostly) at home? Read along for an update of the contemporary label.

How are you doing?

Actually, really good. I’m blessed to be in California with my family and the supportive teams at Vince.

How is the current worldwide situation influencing your daily routine?

We are all working from home, so it gives me a little more time to work out every day: no excuses now! My days are calmer, but still very full. We’re constantly navigating new ways to work.

What is your favourite collector’s item (in terms of art/interior) at home and why?

My father-in-law and also my husband’s art now adorn our walls, and have been for many years. It’s lovely to see my children appreciate their artwork. I also love collecting 70’s Italian furniture.

What are your wardrobe essentials?

Wardrobe essentials for working at home are comfortable pants in soft fabrics and a shirt or T-shirt now the weather is warming up - although I usually have a cashmere sweater on standby. I’m most often barefoot.

What do you enjoy wearing most?

I love comfortable and relaxed, but in a dressed-up way: perhaps a leather skirt or pants paired with our cashmere camisole and a sharp yet relaxed blazer with a low heel shoe, and when needed an oversized trench. It’s been a while since we’ve been in the office though and I miss it.

What do you like to wear on your day off?

On my day off in the summer - a swimsuit with baggy pants and an open shirt with a large straw hat.

What style advice would you give to people who are working from home?

Be relaxed, but it doesn’t have to be sweats: dressing in a silk blouse and an easy pant can make you feel like you’re at work without sacrificing comfort.

What do you think when you see someone dressed in Vince?

It never fails to excite me, that they chose a piece we designed and know so intimately, over all the other choices out there. I feel grateful.

What essential should every woman own?

A cashmere sweater and good fitting pants.
